Summary Statement
Through activism, Youth4CAN advocates for radical action on climate change aimed to build local resilience and sustainable just transition across all 14 regions of Namibia. This youth association is established to leverage, amplify, and represent Namibian youth voices and their decisions in climate change plenaries and take evidence-based action on climate change that are inclusive as well as tackle other environmental, biodiversity, ecosystem, and ocean environmental issues for sustainable development. Youth4CAN acts in alignment with national policies and strategies promoting national youth contributions and support to public and private institutions in the implementation of national climate change action plans for mitigation and adaptation interventions.
Purpose
“Promoting radical youth-led climate actions”. Youth4CAN believes in action-based solutions led by regional youth for regional growth and resilience, adaptive capacity, and low emission development pathway creation. We believe that youth have solutions to societal issues and climate change is one of the generational catastrophes of our times that will require holistic approaches and collaboration.
Our 2030 vision: To radically implement youth-led just and evident based climate action across all 14 regions of Namibia and assist the nation in achieving its 2030 Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) targets.
Long-term vision: To build strong national youth participation in climate change action plans and evidence-based advocacy through successful implementations of sustainable solutions and, build local resilience and capacities towards climate change.
